This project is meant to display the way our society views sex. The porn culture. The underground. The way women are viewed. The way we’re expected to only speak when spoken to. The way our voices aren’t heard. The way it’s socially acceptable to joke about “putting a bag over her head.”
We are in a place where we have become immune to the fetishization of women’s bodies in our culture because we are constantly surrounded by it. We can see it in sex shops, on porn sites, and even in “innocent” jokes.
I chose to focus on fetishes in our culture and how it takes a toll on those being fetishized. Women of color, disabled women, hairy women, fat women, trans women, underage girls, and so many more. We are not fetishes. We are people. We are not perfect.
But neither are you.
